Integration Technician with Fiber Splicing Experience

About the Role:
MelroseMAC is seeking an experienced Integration Technician with fiber splicing expertise to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage electrical systems, including fiber-optic networks, office internet connections, and digital/telephone lines for both residential and business clients. The ideal candidate will have experience with fiber splicing and working with fiber-optic cables, ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' technology infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work independently or as part of a team depending on your level of experience.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems, including fiber-optic networks.
- Perform fiber splicing, cable termination, and testing to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct operational tests on newly installed systems and perform routine maintenance on existing infrastructure.
- Install data, voice, and fiber-optic cables for residential and commercial clients.
- Upgrade existing systems and maintain technology infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fiber-optic and other low-voltage systems.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of experience working with fiber-optic cable installation, fiber splicing, and related systems.
- Experience with low-voltage systems, including data and voice cabling.
- Ability to interpret project drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficient in installing and terminating network and AV cables, including fiber-optic and coaxial cables.
- Strong knowledge of cable pathway standards, racking systems, and cable dressing.
- Familiarity with security cabling techniques and AV terminations (e.g., RGB, VGA, BNC).
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and background check.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with fiber splicing and testing equipment.
- AV, networking, and technology integration experience.
- Ability to work off of ladders, man lifts, or reach booms.
